| 1878: | Johann Hinrich Friedrich Rieckermann, merchant from Lübeck, commences business in Hamburg, Germany as "Händler mit Dinte" (Ink Trader) |
| 1892: | The Hamburg Register of Companies is set up and the company "Johs. Rieckermann - Hamburg" registered. |
| 1932: | Old name - new focus: EXPORT. Rieckermann is now focused on export to Asia and Middle East. At that time devices for sewing machines, type-writers etc. are supplied to Japan, China, India and Persia. Affiliated offices in Kobe, Japan and others are established. The foundation of today's business was laid. |
The Nineteen Fifties |

Rieckermann was facing the challenge of rebuilding trade-relations after World War II.
This is the decade of concentration on the "classical" Far Eastern Markets such as Japan, Korea,
and Hong Kong, as well as Thailand and Vietnam in South East Asia. The new and renewed access to these markets
was built on intensive personal and individual commitment, relying on existing business partners and relationships.
This is in many cases followed by the establishment of subsidiaries and affiliated offices.
During the so-called German "Economic Miracle" in the Nineteen Fifties, Rieckermann follows the industrial
and technological progress and puts emphasis on major industries such as the Graphic, Metal Processing,
Packaging, Pharmaceutical and Food Industries. Some Milestones of this decade: |
| 1951: | Foundation of Rieckermann (Thailand). |
| 1952: | Rieckermann (Japan) with an office in Tokyo re-established. |
| 1953: | As a consequence of the building-up of the Korean economy ("Korea-Boom"), Rieckermann (Korea) commences business with an office in Seoul. |
| 1953: | Commencement of intensive activities in Vietnam with the establishment of a representative office. |
| 1954: |  After several years of expansion in the region, Rieckermann (Hong Kong) is founded. Rieckermann participates at the Osaka Fair in Japan while a new Branch Office in Osaka is opened. Until the present day, participation at the most important fairs and exhibitions world-wide is part of our policy in order to be close to markets and customers.

The Nineteen Sixties |

For Rieckermann, the "Middle Eastern Decade" focused on the Middle Eastern markets commencing 1959.
This region becomes another pillar of Rieckermann's activities: A representative office in Cairo, Egypt is founded.
There is involvement in Sudan and Libya, as well as projects in the Gulf Region. Machinery and equipment supplied via the
representative offices in Pakistan and Iran gain considerable market share from the end of the decade, especially for
the Pharmaceutical and Metal Processing Industry.

The Nineteen Seventies |
|
The first half of the 70'ies is dedicated to the South East Asian Countries: Several offices are established in order to provide
a strong basis for the increasing activities in SEA.

| 1971: | In cooperation with P.T. Buana Teknik Raya, as sole agent for Rieckermann in Indonesia, offices in Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan are subsequently opened. |
| 1974: | Foundation of Rieckermann (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. with an office in Kuala Lumpur. |
| 1975: | Rieckermann (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is established. |
The Nineteen Eighties and Nineties |
These decades bring, once again, an important expansion for the Company. Rieckermann commences activities and renews its presence
in previously unfamiliar markets such as China and Indochina.
Representative offices in Beijing and Shanghai are founded in 1985. Another target is Vietnam: In the course of the
Vietnamese "Open Door Policy" in 1989, Rieckermann is one of the first European Trading Companies to open a representative office
in Saigon, continuing successful business relations from the Nineteen Sixties and early Seventies.

| 1992: | Offices opened in Hanoi, Vietnam and Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Manila, Philippines continue in this line of development. |
Emergence into the 21st century |
Facing the coming decades, it is Rieckermann's policy to combine a maximum of flexibility, reliability and quality with a century
of experience in order to offer customer-driven solutions.
Although Rieckermann's face has changed throughout the years - with the rapid technological development in the world making
a permanent influence on the improvement of services essential - it is all the more important to keep activities in line
with the Company's philosophy and principals. We are committed at any time to justifying the trust placed by our customers in our services.
As recently demonstrated by the establishment of new offices in Guangzhou and Dongguan in China, Rieckermann maintains its strategy of
being close to the customer and we will constantly work to add new milestones throughout this new century.
